We Got Fishies ─ JennaMarbles

I am by no means a fish expert (clearly) so when we got our little barbs we had the guy at the fish store give us a full run down on what we should do which is exactly what we did in this video. I have since read many places that the tank should be cycled beforehand, that there should be bacteria etc., and like I said in the video the guy told us to give it as much time as we could before introducing them since we were starting a new tank, so although this video appears to happen pretty quickly we really did let the tank cycle for an entire evening before putting them inside. Much like when I got Ad, I had had fish as pets as a kid and literally did not have the internet and this much information before and my fish were always great (aside from one apparently eating the other) so I apologize to the fish community out there that might see some of this as a beginner mistake. I diligently followed the instructions given to me at the fish store and obviously would never want anything but a wonderful environment for my fishies. So far they are doing well and I am following some fish forums to make sure I take proper care of them as their tank goes through a full cycle. The fish store told me to bring in a sample of their water in a month so hopefully then they can help me make adjustments if I'm not doing something correctly. I appreciate all helpful information you fishy experts might have, emphasis on the helpful, I am a fishy noob mom and just looking to make a nice place for my fishies.
