Even if you’re not a huge Marvel movie fan, you’ve probably seen headlines accusing actress Brie Larson of being a misandrist. And after seeing a quote in which she said she doesn’t care what white men think of her movies, it’s not hard to see why people are upset. Even fellow actor James Wood has called for fans to boycott Captain Marvel. But was Brie trying to make an important point about diversity and not an inflammatory statement?
In addition to her own controversy, many fans feel she’s being set up to Marvel Studios. They’ve sandwiched her big MCU debut between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame two of the most highly-anticipated movies of all time.
