Though we know all about the cute, friendly animals, it’s the deep-sea creatures that inspire fear in the hearts of many. The deeper one goes, the creepier the animals get. But all deep-sea animals are weird-looking because they have to be. To survive in such a harsh and inhospitable location, animals have adapted in strange ways to combat the extreme cold, total darkness, atmospheric pressure, and other predators. This molds normal animals into alien-like creatures. The creepiest fact of all is that most of the following creatures have only recently been discovered.
