Christmas is a time for giving thoughtful presents and for being surprised by wonderful gifts – it is not a time for horrendous gifts. But so many people end up opening some truly dreadful offerings on Christmas Day morning. Some of the worst Christmas gifts are the ones that drop a not-so-subtle hint that the recipient needs to do something differently, like brush their teeth better, or do some exercise, or stop smelling, or lose some weight. These gifts can be so offensive. As can practical presents that suggest you don’t clean your house enough or cook well enough.
Then there are the prank presents and joke gifts that aren’t remotely funny. The person giving the prank gift might think these are the funniest Christmas gifts ever, but in reality they’re just a waste of money. Novelty socks and ugly Christmas sweaters, we’re looking at you. Or how about bacon floss and a lump of coal gum, anyone? On that subject of horrible gifts that go in your mouth, there are so many gross “edible” gifts that no person would ever want to receive either, like a giant gummy bear or insect candy.
