We try our best to be polite in the society in which we live, so it can be totally confusing to go to an entirely new country with a new set of rules. It’s strange and overwhelming the cultural differences that vary from country to country. Hopefully, we can help those of you from the United States a bit by letting you know which common, everyday behaviors you probably do without thinking are considered incredibly rude in other countries. If you love to travel, this is definitely one video you do not want to miss out on. Indulging in local cuisine is some people’s favorite part of traveling, but leaving a tip, or asking for a side of dressing to dip your food in may be considered bad manners depending on where you are. If you’re a fan of sushi, it’s likely you are doing some things that would make a Japanese person cringe, and they even have words for your mistakes. There are some countries, such as South Korea, where you want to cover as much skin as possible, especially on your torso. While in other countries, refusing to bare it all during a trip to the spa or sauna is actually considered rude and may make you come across as stuck up. Many people feel that Americans in general are too blunt, because in other countries a simple “no” is considered impolite. Answers such as “I’ll think about it,” which we would consider rude are actually the accepted standard in places like China and Thailand.
