This is the reason why her book club was known for turning little-known books into best-sellers. And the Oprah effect doesn't just extend to products, it also changes lives. The greatest thing that Oprah has invested her money into is her Leadership Academy for Girls in Africa. This boarding school accepts girls from impoverished areas and gives them access to an education that would not have been possible without Oprah.
