Humans are a weird species. So, it shouldn't be any surprise that man's best friend is also really weird. Dogs have evolved with us, so some of our weirdness had to have rubbed off on them. This is evident by the very human things we sometimes catch our dogs doing, like pouting, whining, or watching TV. Though traits like these are clearly informed by us, there are many canine quirks born out of a savage past that founded their behavior. These quirks include howling, circling before lying down, and rolling in garbage. Other bizarre habits have ambiguous origin, but we'll try to explain why dogs do them in this video. Dogs are a complicated result of a complicated evolutionary process that domesticated something that long resisted domestication, so excuse them if they're a little weird. And, while you're at it, excuse us also.
