More than 2,000 wrongfully convicted people have been exonerated in the United States since 1989 according to the National Registry of Exonerations. That's more than 19,790 years of human life lost needlessly to wrongful conviction. This series aims to tell the stories of those who had their voices silenced, and to examine the flaws in the system that made these tragedies possible.
