Soccer might be a strenuous sport to play at any time of the year, but the FIFA World Cup—which comes around once every four years—is definitely the pinnacle of any professional soccer player's career. And while it might seem like the greatest honor to represent your country during this international event, it certainly comes with a price tag. These players get paid a hefty salary to kick a ball around, but there's a not so glamorous part to their job too. FIFA World Cup players must follow specific diets, and they sometimes have to give up alcohol. Their time spent with loved ones can also be restricted, depending on the team that the play for. And that's not where the restrictions end. It might seem like an incredible sporting event to be a part of, but it's not all fun and games for the players.
