In 2017, the US government announced a travel ban to prevent American citizens from visiting North Korea. While there has always been tensions between the countries, it reached a new low when Otto Warmbier returned to the US in a terrible condition after being detained for nearly eighteen months in North Korea. The student sadly passed away from an unknown illness just a few days after he was released. But Otto wasn't the only foreigner who had a bad experience in North Korea. From being detained under made-up charges to spending their days in hard labor camps, their stories are enough to make us want to stay away from North Korea. Because in North Korea, there's no way of knowing exactly what'll happen to you if you end up on the wrong side of the law.
