Have you heard of the term “playing God”? It’s when humans attempt things that only “God” should do, or “nature,” for those of you who are less mystical. With science giving us so much and improving our lives so substantially, it’s hard to set a limit on what it should be used for. The government has tried to box research into ethical boundaries that they’ve arbitrarily drawn up. Most of what exists outside of those boundaries are extremely dangerous endeavours that could destroy nature, or extremely creepy experiments that could corrupt nature. Much of this video falls under the second category. These are nature’s strange mashups. They are often unnatural, often unsettling, and almost always controversial. However, we won’t be the ones to decide what’s right or wrong. We’ll simply show you the results and let you make your own decision about the ethics of scientific discovery.
