North Korea is a mysterious little country with an ideology that is based off of Stalins communist Russia. This communist state is so secretive that tourists are not even allowed to travel around it alone. People who live in this country are forced to devote themselves completely to the Kim dynasty, which first took charge of the government in 1948. Did you know that every classroom is adorned with portraits of Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, and Kim Jong-un? Brainwashing students into worshipping the Kims starts when they are in kindergarten. They are forced to clean the portraits every day with a special cloth to show their devotion. They are even taught hatred towards Americans at a young age. A popular children’s book is about a mean rooster that gets outsmarted by a butterfly. Well let you take a wild guess at who the rooster is supposed to be in this scenario.

Children from elite families in North Korea are privileged enough to be enrolled in The Childrens Palace in Pyongyang. The kids that go to this school are treated to courses in ballet, singing, and calligraphy. However, they are still subjected to government propaganda in everything that they learn at this prestigious academy. But youll have to keep watching to see how students from poorer backgrounds are treated in North Korea.
