As a gay man in 1990s France, Robin Campillo saw AIDS claim his friends' lives and spent years campaigning to raise awareness about the virus. Decades later, he decided to make a film about his activism, France's LGBTQ scene, and the house music that he says was "the background of the epidemic."
VICE sat down with the director to talk about his new film, 'BPM,' and his history with ACT UP.
