Even though it feels like teens just got out of school for the summer, it seems that every store in the world is already getting ready for “Back to School” season. Every August, parents and students are scrambling to get ALL the school supplies as well as get the most fashionable outfit. Why do most schools even take the summers off anyway? Well, it all has to do with the weather. During the summers, the classrooms would get really hot, plus teachers were losing valuable time to prepare and train for the next school year. There is also a rumor that farm families were yanking their kids from school during the summer to help with farming in anticipation for the fall harvest. While the latter maybe somewhat true, it wasn’t the main reason for summer vacation. In short, teachers and kids needed a break from the heat as well as the heat of academic standards. As we continue to evolve as a society, more schools are going the year-round option where school happens all 12 months, but there are breaks in between. Even so, there is still a set “begin” time. So what’s one to do to get ready for the upcoming school year?
