The Free the Nipple movement is one based on equality. It started after Lina Esco’s film by the same name and is now known worldwide, supported by famous celebs. The main objective of the movement is getting men and women equal rights – an issue that still prevails today. The Free the Nipple website states that in 37 states in the US, women can still be arrested for being topless, with some states including no breastfeeding in their laws. Women should be able to breastfeed in public, and if men are allowed to show their nipples, women should be too. This is especially true on social media, a platform which has banned photos of women’s naked breasts.
